Scope note: Glucoproteínas de gran tamaño(más de 160 kDa) con movilidad electroforética de las ALFAGLOBULINAS, que se encuentran, a altas concentraciones, en el plasma de mujeres embarazadas y también en ratones, ratas y otras especies animales (ALFAMACROGLOBULINAS). En los humanos, siempre están presentes en la sangre y son inhibidores inespecíficos de las PROTEASAS, al igual que las PROTEÍNAS DEL COMPLEMENTO (C3; C4; C5).
