Scope note: La Unión de Naciones Suramericanas (UNASUR) es un organismo regional formado por los doce países de Suramérica, que tiene por objetivo construir, de manera participativa y consensual, un espacio de articulación en el ámbito cultural, social, económico y político. Entre las prioridades de la UNASUR, están el diálogo político, las políticas sociales, la educación, la energía, la infraestructura, el financiamiento y el medio ambiente, con miras al desarrollo de la paz y la seguridad, la eliminación de las desigualdades socioeconómicas, la promoción de la inclusión social y la participación ciudadana, además del fortalecimiento de la democracia y la reducción de las asimetrías en el marco de la soberanía y la independencia de los Estados. El bloque está formado por el Consejo de Jefes y Jefas de Estado y de Gobierno, por el Consejo de Ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, por el Consejo de Delegados, por la Secretaría General y por la Presidencia Pro Tempore (BRASIL.
