Scope note: Un supresor de las proteínas señalizadoras por citoquinas formado por una región N-terminal inhibidora de quinasa, un DOMINIO SH2 central y una caja SOCS (un motivo de 40 aminoácidos, que actúa reclutando COMPLEJOS E3 DE UBICUITINA-PROTEÍNA LIGASA) característica C-terminal. SOCS1 actúa como regulador negativo de las CITOQUINAS que señalizan mediante la vía de las QUINASAS JANUS- FACTORES DE TRANSCRIPCIÓN STAT 3 (JAK-STAT 3) inhibiendo la actividad de las QUINASAS JANUS.
