La integrina alfa3beta1 es la principal integrina presente en las CÉLULAS EPITELIALES, en donde desempeña un papel en el acoplamiento de la MEMBRANA BASAL y en la migración celular, y puede regular las funciones de otras integrinas. Dos isoformas de la subunidad alfa (INTEGRINA ALFA3) ayustadas alternativamente se expresan de modo diferenciado según los diferentes tipos celulares.
