Scope note: Subtipo de fosfoproteína fosfatasa que está formada por una subunidad catalítica y dos subunidades reguladoras diferentes. Al menos dos genes codifican isoformas de la subunidad de la proteína fosfatasa catalítica, mientras que existen varias isoformas de subunidades reguladoras debido a la presencia de genes múltiples y de empalmes alternativos de su ARNm. La fosfatasa 2 actúa en una amplia variedad de las proteínas celulares y puede jugar un rol como regulador de los procesos de señalización intracelular.
