Scope note: Fármacos que actúan localmente en las superficies cutáneas o mucosas y producen inflamación. Las que causan enrojecimiento, debido a hiperemia son rubefacientes, las que producen ampollas son vesicantes, las que penetran en las glándulas sebáceas y producen abscesos son pustulantes; los gases lacrimógenos y el gas mostaza también son irritantes.
