Scope note: Procedimientos diagnósticos y terapéuticos de naturaleza invasiva o quirúrgica que requieren de la experiencia de un radiólogo especialmente entrenado. En general, son más invasivos que las imágenes diagnósticas pero menos invasivos que la cirugía mayor. A menudo comprenden cateterismo, fluoroscopia, o tomografía computarizada. Algunos ejemplos son la colangiografía percutánea transhepática, la biopsia percutánea transtorácica, la angioplastia con balón y la embolización arterial.

Scope note: Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are invasive or surgical in nature, and require the expertise of a specially trained radiologist. In general, they are more invasive than diagnostic imaging but less invasive than major surgery. They often involve catheterization, fluoroscopy, or computed tomography. Some examples include percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, percutaneous transthoracic biopsy, balloon angioplasty, and arterial embolization.
