Como tal, es un receptor para el FIBRINÓGENO, el FACTOR DE VON WILLEBRAND, las FIBRONECTINAS, la VITRONECTINA y las TROMBOSPONDINAS. Un déficit de GPIIb-IIIa produce la TROMBOASTENIA DE GLANZMANN.
