Scope note: Doble hélice de ADN, a izquierdas. Su denominación deriva de su estrecha estructura en zigzag, que constituye la forma de ADN con menor torsión y más fina. El ADN-Z que esta dispuesto en regiones dentro del GENOMA, puede jugar un importante papel en la REGULACIÓN DE LA EXPRESIÓN GÉNICA.
