Durante el desarrollo embrionario la efrina A4 se expresa en el HIPOCAMPO y en la CORTEZA CEREBRAL. Se une preferencialmente a los receptores ephA (RECEPTORES DE LA FAMILIA EPH) con la excepción del RECEPTOR EPHA1.
