En la formación del COMPLEJO DE ATAQUE A LA MEMBRANA, C7 es el siguiente componente en unirse al complejo C5b-6 formando un complejo trimolecular C5b-7, que es lipofílico, se asemeja a una proteína de membrana integral, y sirve como ancla para los componentes tardíos del complemento, C8 y C9.
